This is an old video I did but it still rings true.  Something to think about this weekend....

WE WON!!!!

I am very excited to announce that we won a video contest by Southwest Airlines!  The idea was to promote the fact that they do not charge for bags, saving the average flyer almost 100 dollars in fees.  SO they wanted us to do a 60 minute video clip telling what we would do for 100 dollars. So we wrote a little song, and fired up the video camera and edited one of the silliest minutes in video history.  They announced the winners today and WE WON!!!  After waiting all day for some kind of notification I got the email around 5:30 tonight. We won a trip for 4 to Salt Lake City for 3 days of skiing, airfare, a swanky hotel, and a rental car! HOW AWESOME IS THAT??  

Now I have to say that this is a very big moment for me!  As most of you know, I have been on the fringes of the entertainment industry for many a year now.  To be able to take my family on a crazy nice vacation because of something I created gives me an amazing sense of satisfaction that I can hardly express in words.  Knowing we will have special memories and it is because of something entertaining I put together gives me a great, great feeling inside.  All praise and glory goes to my savior, Jesus Christ.  It is through His gifts that I have anything in my life.  And the best part of all of this is that, though this is a really cool thing to win, I know that these things do not define who I am.  I am nothing without Jesus.  I thank God for this great moment, and I thank Him even more for giving me the humility to praise Him in all things and know that none of it is totally of my own accord.  I thank Him for my beautiful family who makes making these videos easy because they are SO SO BEAUTIFUL!!  I am amazingly blessed, even if I never won a thing.  But I have to say that it does feel REALLY GOOD!!

Laine and Pop Come To Visit!

Last weekend we had some very special visitors!  Laine and Pop came to visit!  We had lots of fun with them and we think they had a good time too!  Here are some pics!

The First Annual Pumpkin Roll!!!

So we started a tradition today!  When Halloween is over and it's time for the pumpkins to go, it's time to let 'em roll!!!  Why just dispose of the pumpkins in some compost when you can kick them down a hill and watch them burst apart!!!  Check out the solid fun we had today in this video and then check out the pics below.....

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

We spent our Halloween at our church this year.  They do something called "Trunk Or Treat", where instead of going from house to house, kids go from car to car, or trunk to trunk, in the church parking lot.  The cars are decorated, usually having a theme, and they try to keep really scary masks out of the way.  This was great for us, and the kids had a blast.

The kids love to watch DVDs in the car as we drive about town.  Christie and I try to use this time to have the kids enjoy watching something, while learning something in the process.  We found these learn to read DVDs by Leapfrog, and Caeley and Elijah LOVE THEM!!  Elijah especially likes the catchy number that is the same name of this post.  Check him out rocking out his favorite song on the DVD!!
